How to Repurpose User-Generated Content Across Different Platforms

If you’re a small business owner or entrepreneur, it is important to know that user-generated content (UGC) is one of the most powerful tools for brand trust and engagement. But did you know that you can take a single piece of UGC and stretch it into multiple content formats for different platforms?

Instead of letting a great customer review, video, or photo fade into obscurity after one post, you can repurpose it in multiple ways saving you time, effort, and ad budget.

In this blog, I'll show you exactly how to turn one piece of UGC into multiple pieces of content for social media, blogs, ads, and more.

Step 1: Choose the Right UGC to Repurpose

Before you start repurposing, you need to pick the right kind of UGC. Here’s what to look for:

Authenticity – Does it feel natural and relatable?

Engagement – Did it already get good responses from your audience?

Versatility – Can you break it into multiple formats?

Examples of great UGC include:

A customer review (text or video)

A photo or unboxing video from a happy customer

A testimonial tweet

A before-and-after transformation post etc.

Step 2: Break It Down into Multiple Content Types

Now, let's take a TikTok UGC video and turn it into content for different platforms.

1. Instagram & Facebook – Multiple Formats

Repost as a Reel with added captions and your brand tag.

Create a carousel post by taking screenshots of the video.

Turn it into a Story with a poll or question sticker: “Have you tried this product yet?”

Make a meme out of a funny frame from the video and add a relatable caption

Best for: Engagement, storytelling, and visual appeal

2. Twitter/X – Turn It Into a Tweet Thread

Post a short snippet of the video, Share a customer quote from the video as a tweet.

Create a tweet thread: "A customer just shared their experience with our product! Here’s what they loved the most"

Best for: Quick engagement and conversations

3. LinkedIn – Transform It into a Business Case Study

Share the customer’s story as a before-and-after success post

Write a thought-leadership post: “How user-generated content builds trust in 2025”

Create a carousel PDF with key takeaways from the video

Best for: B2B businesses and professional storytelling

4. Blog Post – Expand on the UGC Story

Write a detailed case study on the customer's experience. Add SEO keywords to attract more search traffic. Embed the original video in the post for authenticity

Best for: Brand authority and long-term traffic

5. TikTok & YouTube Shorts – Edit and Remix the Video

Create a remix of the original UGC video with added reactions

Add a voice-over explaining the customer’s experience

Cut the video into shorter clips and post multiple times

Best for: Keeping content fresh and reaching a younger audience

6. Email Marketing – Use It in Campaigns

Add the UGC video as a testimonial in your next newsletter

Feature the customer’s review in a sales email

Turn multiple UGCs into a “Customer Love” email series

Best for: Building trust and converting potential customers

Step 3: Automate & Schedule for Consistency

Instead of manually posting each repurposed piece, use scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite, Buffer, or Later to plan out your content in advance.

Pro Tip: Rotate the UGC across different platforms over several weeks so it doesn’t feel repetitive.

One piece of UGC = endless content opportunities!

By repurposing user-generated content creatively, you save time on content creation, increase engagement on multiple platforms and build brand trust by showcasing real customer experiences.
